Heidi ready to time!
Despite a tricky last minute waxing frenzy, the Potato Cup was pulled off without a hitch. Everyone was in the same boat with snow accumulating on their skis on the climbs and then trying to scrape it off on top. It was common to see people stop, cross their ski tips and slide one ski over the other frantically removing snow in the quest for glide. Somehow it was still wicked fun! Probably because you knew you weren't alone. Everyone I saw was doing the same thing. The skate portion started and the skis slid well on the firm track. The conditions gradually got wetter as the snow changed.
Racers were rewarded with custom "potato" medals, Sanju's chicken and rice, Great Harvest sweets, Downey Chili, and countless other food donations. Most people walked away with door prizes too! Lots of smiles all around. See you next year!
